We are Benedictines: women with a wide variety of backgrounds who have been called together and follow a 1500 year old tradition which has its roots in the Rule of St. Benedict.
We are a community in which our unity as sisters is made concrete through vows of lifelong devotion to sharing our spiritual and material gifts, work, time, faith and responsibility based on a personal understanding of having been called to follow the example of Jesus.
We are sisters of the Benedictine Abbey St. Scholastika which was founded in Dinklage in 1949. Our roots are found in the Benedictine Abbey St. Gertrude in Alexanderdorf and, going back even further, in a small group of nurses in Berlin, who recognized themselves as being called to the monastic life.
We run a small business and want to live by the work of our hands, help those in need and develop our workshops further.
